Annual Youth Shoot at the Oakdale Gun Club
Date(s): Monday, August 20, 2012
Hours: 4:30 PM
Event: Annual Youth Shoot at the Oakdale Gun Club
Our annual Youth Shoot was a tremendous success! We will gather around 4:30PM and run the event from 5-7:30PM. Youth will be divided into three groups as before and rotate between three stations - one group shooting trap, one group on the .22 range and the third group eating dinner.
We need volunteers for this event, particularly PF members who are also members of the Oakdale Gun Club. All range officers must be OGC members so if you qualify or have friends who are OGC members, please appeal to them for help. This is a great event, providing an opportunity for youth to do some supervised shooting prior to hunting season. We typically have 30-35 youth participating.
Provide: Youth's name, age, DOB, accompanying adult, phone # and whether they will be bringing their own gun(s) to Roger Williams at rwill3450@comcast.net
All participating youth must have completed their DNR firarms safety training in order to participate in this event.
If you have any questions or suggestions, or are available to volunteer, contact Roger at the email address above or call 651-402-8125.

Annual Banquet
Each year Washington County Pheasants Forever has an annual banquet to get fellow pheasant hunters and those in the community to gather together in support of our pheasants. Raising money to help the efforts of conservation and habitat that is related to our pheasant population. As well, educating those new members and youth in why our Pheasants Forever Chapter is important to the sport in our communities.

Monthly Meetings
Join us for our monthly meetings. Check the Meetings tab for details on the next meeting. If you have any questions, feel free to contact our chapter president Jeff Martin at 651-261-6881. See you there!

Disabled / Wounded Warrior Hunts
Each year the Washington County Chapter helps to recruit several disabled hunters, including wounded service men and women who would like to participate in a special pheasant hunt at the Whispering Emerald Ridge Game Farm in Menomonie, WI. Our chapter has provided funding in the past and there are always numerous chapter members who want to give back something to those who are disabled and have more challenges when it comes to hunting. Whispering Emerald Ridge has been hosting this event for over 20 years, and Dave helps to identify most of the disabled hunters, the volunteers, the dogs & handlers, and those who can provide the transportation into the field by UTVs/ATVs. Dress accordingly and be prepared for a good time in the field. This year's event took place on April 2, 2022. Contact the organizer: Dave Swenson 651-706-4509 or Bruce Olson at Whispering Emerald Ridge Game Farm 715-233-1281

Annual Youth Hunts
The future of our sport rely on the efforts of those generations younger than us. To help promote those efforts and educate youth in the importance of what Pheasants Forever, we host an annual hunt, showcasing why our organization is important, but at the same time having some fun with our leaders of tomorrow.

Member Hunts
Forming bonds and friendships in the field, all in the efforts of conservation. From time to time we have members getting together as a group to hunt some pheasants in our great state of Minnesota. Check our collection of photos, from the photos of our members in the field, to our chapter events and hunts. All our chapter group photos can be found here. Even a few photos of our favorite hunting companions chasing some birds.

Social Get-Togethers
The Minnesota hosts a Chapter social get together at the local sporting clays. Chapter members and their families are cordially invited. This is a great opportunity to meet new friends, enjoy some great food and have some fun shooting sporting clays.

Hunter Safety Courses
While we all like to have fun in the field and chase pheasants for miles, safety is one of the most important aspects. We promote and encourage hunter safety in the field. Hunter education classes show both youth and adults the proper way to hold, maneuver and practice proper gun care. We at Minnesota believe it is essential for kids to become familiar with gun operation and be comfortable with handling their firearm.
